Student Grading

1. Two-page report (70%): due at 18:00 on the Monday following the lecture.
   Students are required to turn in a two-page report based on the discussion in the class. Each student should emphasize his or her own questions, comments, and ideas. The final grade will be the average of the seven highest grades.
   
2. Best comment/question voting: (30%): due at 18:00 on the Friday following the lecture.
   There will be a vote for the best comment/question following each lecture. Each student should describe the following three items on her vote:
   (1) The name of the classmate who gave that comment or raised that question in the seminar (one cannot vote for his or her own comment or question);
   (2) The comment or question;
   (3) At least one reason why that comment or question is better than all other comments or questions. To make such a comparison, the student will have to discuss at least one other question or comment, which can be his or her own, of the day. The student winning the greatest number of votes (considering all his or her comments and questions of the week) will earn full credit (4%) for that week. The other students will be graded according to their appreciation of the questions and comments by their classmates.
